I am constantly seeking the best t-shirt for women. Every single one of my current clients is in desperate need of that perfect tee. It’s the t-shirt you can throw on when you want to wear jeans, shorts, or joggers. And when it fits just right and actually comes in colors that flatter our skin tones and complement our wardrobe’s color palette — be still my heart! Getting ready in the morning or on the weekend becomes a reason to go places. The perfect tee can change your wardrobe and, to be dramatic, your life. Below are the best t-shirts I’ve found in my hunt, from crew to scoop necks and, of course, the classic white tee.
Best T-Shirt for Women Ever Made
The best t-shirt for women ever made is by NZT Nic + Zoe. Surprising I know, but this is the only t-shirt that I have put on every single client, of every age and every body type. Not one client was disappointed in it. That scoop neck flatters every single woman from large chested to small busted. And as you may remember from my post on the best shirts for broad shoulders, the most flattering t-shirts for broad shoulders are always scoop necks. This flattering t-shirt is available at Nordstrom, Amazon, and Bloomingdale’s.

2nd Best Scoop Neck T-Shirt For Women
Technically NZT Nic + Zoe is the best scoop neck t-shirt since it is the best t-shirt in general and it has a scoop neck, but there are many others to brag about. I have listed most of them at the bottom of the post, but I have to give a personal shout-out to Athleta’s three-quarter length sleeve scoop neck t-shirt. The best part is it looks like a proper top so you can even wear this to work or on a Zoom call. It is so sexy and versatile.
Sizing + Fit: It runs small, so order a size up.

The Perfect Tee For Women (Crew Neck)
Yes, the NZT scoop neck tee is the best t-shirt for women everywhere ever made, but the perfect tee for me personally is the Mott + Bow fitted crew neck Marcy tee. I have at least 11 of these tees at this point. You can see me dancing around in them in this Instagram Reel. The t-shirt is super soft and lightweight without being flimsy or see-through. The silhouette is deeply flattering with a fitted waist and shoulder that releases at the torso perfectly so it doesn’t cling to back fat or belly curves. The sleeves are also angled and cut a little higher so your arms look longer aka thinner. And you will be surprised by its durability. I have washed my black tee numerous times (in cold water) over the past four years and the shape and fabric still look fantastic! I am pretty sure it is made out of magic. Keep in mind, this shirt is long and stretchy, so I often tie it in a knot at my waist as you can see below…

Best Black T-Shirt For Women
You may recognize this image from my Baleaf Review Post. I had never worn a black t-shirt until I tried Mott + Bow’s fitted Marcy tee. The richness of the color and the flattering fit has made this one of my most worn tops. As I mentioned above, I really love the look of this tee tied in a knot at the waist and the fabric is PERFECT for this. You do not want to wear it untucked ever — it is just too long. Of course, you can hem it, but then you couldn’t tie it in the super fun knot!

2nd Best Crew Neck T-Shirt For Women
Before the Mott + Bow Marcy Tee, the Madewell Northside Vintage Tee was my go-to perfect tee. I have doubles of my three favorite colors: yellow, navy, and tan, and I have not stopped wearing them. This tee is more cropped and has a slightly boxy silhouette look, which makes it perfect for a half tuck, aka french tuck. (The Mott + Bow is too long for the half-tuck look.) I also like that it is a true cotton t-shirt. Sometimes I am just in the mood for cotton, and I know many of you often prefer cotton to man-made blends. This tee is available at Madewell and Zappos.
Sizing + Fit: True to size. It is supposed to be a bit boxy.

Perfect White Tee For Women (Scoop Neck)
I know I am hitting the NZT Nic + Zoe t-shirt over your head, but it is just the perfect white tee with a scoop neck. I’ll give you two guesses why, but you only need one… it’s the least see-through! Heavens to Betsy it is HARD to find a white t-shirt that doesn’t show your bra, your belly, and belly button to boot. If you wear a black bra, you will see it, but with a nude bra, you are good. It is still a little see-through for the most conservative gals, but my clients and I have no issue with it.

Best Off White Tee (Crew Neck)
Did you think we were done with the Mott + Bow Tee? We’re not. This is the only white t-shirt I own. I adore an off-white t-shirt instead of an optic white t-shirt. It is fresher, always less see-through, and it doesn’t look like a man’s undershirt. I regularly pair this off-white tee with light blue denim shorts and jeans. Friendly reminder: always buy two of your favorite white tee because you know you are going to stain it or yellow up those armpits real fast.

Perfect White Tee With An Interesting Detail
Sometimes you need a t-shirt that looks a little bit more fabulous than the ordinary tee. I am in love with the Michael Stars flutter sleeve tee for that reason. It is also one of the rare white t-shirts that is not super see-through and looks nothing like an undershirt. Tie it into a knot at the waist and pair it with a skirt for a flirty put-together t-shirt look. This tee is available at Zappos and Amazon.
Sizing + Fit: This has “no size” but this just means it has 1 size. It will fit women sizes 6-12. It will be loose on a size 6 woman, and fitted on a size 12 woman.

Best V-Neck T-Shirt For Women
A sharp v-neck looks like a men’s undershirt and doesn’t flatter any body type, but a curved v-neck is perfection and ATM is the champion of this. Without a doubt, they make the best v-neck t-shirt for women ever made. ATM has the full array of colors for this t-shirt on their website, but the best ones are final sale, so I recommend you order two sizes from Bloomingdale’s and figure out the best size for you. Once you know your preferred size, then order away all the final sale goodies. I recommend these universally flattering colors: Concord Grape, Emerald Forest, and Empress Teal. I also like Deep Periwinkle, but this is best for fair skin. This tee is available at ATM and Bloomingdale’s.
